NUDESTY, Wash.

— A naked artist in her thirties was on her way to work Wednesday morning when she was pulled over by a police officer, who ordered her to the ground.

According to the criminal complaint, a deputy sheriff was called to the scene, but did not intervene because the woman was not a public safety threat.

According the complaint, the deputy told the woman that she would be charged with indecent exposure, a misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail.

The woman was released after posting $2,500 bond, but the criminal charge is still pending.

A second naked artist, who has not been identified, was on the way to a gallery in the same building, when the officer ordered her into the back of a police car.

The two women were taken to jail in separate vehicles.
